This is not  published to encourage people to go out - especially not people who have been advised to stay home.   But there people in Galway who are working in essential industries - some working extended hours due to the pandemic.  They still need to shop and eat and top up their Leap cards .   This list is to provide them with information about services which are available.

Always maintain social distancing, as per HSE guidelines.   Do not leave your home if you are told not to.

Shop assistant

A sales assistant who has an interest in animals and their care is wanted at the Petworld store in Briarhill Industrial Estate - next to ProSlide, in the block facing the Clayton Hotel.

This is a part time job, 1 or 2 days per week, of which one day would be at the weekend.

No experience is necessary, as full training will be given.  But you must be enthusiastic about the job.

They want someone who is flexible to take on more senior roles as the need arises, including daily stock-takes, quality checks on  incoming products, contacting suppliers, etc

Experience using Microsoft systems (likely Excel, Outlook, Word etc) is essential.

They want someone who is friendly, passionate and motivated, who has similar beliefs to their ethos, excellent attention to detail and is flexible with working hours.

Work experience in a warehouse environment, and / or in the organic or food sectors is an advantage.

Lifeguards and receptionists are wanted at the city-council-owned LeisureLand swimming, fitness and events centre on the Prom in Salthill - across the street from Coco Cafe.

Lifeguards should have a Pool Lifeguard level 2 qualification or equivalent, and Level 2 Swimming Instruction qualification.

Receptionists should have reception and cash handling experience, customer-service and sales experience and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The dates of employment aren't mentioned in the advertisement, but it's likely that the most employees are needed for the summer period.  This may be suitable for students who want part time work during the year and full-time in the holidays.
