The staff-wanted sign is a little - vague.   It says "This person is as friendly as a saloon keeper and knows the lay of the land.   A head full of high grade ore. And as reliable as a good saddle" - but not what the actual job is.  They aren't busy enough to need a dedicated security guard or big enough for a stockroom assistant - so I'd guess this job is actually "shop assistant".
